Celebrating a Decade of Drama
On August 10th, 2025, Milwaz Productions marked a decade of creativity, culture, and community with an unforgettable 10th Anniversary Gala at the Government Plaza. The evening was a vibrant celebration of our journey, achievements, and a moment to honour all the people who have made it all possible.
The highlight of the night was the world premiere of our newest stage production, ANANSI, written by Alistair Campbell and directed by our founder, Mrs. Janieka Tudor-Baptiste. This captivating performance brought the beloved Caribbean folklore trickster to life in a dazzling blend of storytelling, music, and movement.

The Gala also shone a spotlight on the incredible team and collaborators who made Anansi possible — from the talented cast and dedicated crew to our partners and sponsors. We extend special thanks to UDeCOTT, our Gold Sponsor, Rhema Fashion House for their stunning costume designs, Réjeanne John for expert makeup artistry, Cydni Walters for impeccable hairstyling, photographer Sean Sorias and videographer, Jemuel Romeo for capturing the magic of the evening.
It was more than a night of theatre, it was a night of gratitude, reflection, and renewed passion for the arts. As we look forward to the next chapter, Milwaz Productions remains committed to creating stories that inspire, entertain, and celebrate Caribbean culture.
If you missed the premiere of Anansi, have no fear! Anansi will return to the stage in October 2025. Reserve your tickets now!
A note from the Director

Founder & Director

It’s fascinating to see ANANSI emerge as an AI assistant here in Trinidad and Tobago; a modern embodiment of guidance, communication, and storytelling. There’s a beautiful symmetry between ANANSI and the folklore character Anansi, whom Milwaz Productions will so vibrantly bring to life on stage. Anansi isn’t just a trickster spider. He’s the keeper of stories, symbolizing cunning, wisdom and cultural continuity. What strikes me most is how both ANANSI (the AI) and Anansi (the folk character) serve as mediums for storytelling and knowledge-sharing, though one is technological and the other mythological. Both converge on the same goal: to connect people through narratives.
This highlights why literature and performance remain so vital. They give culture life, anchor identity, and shape how stories endure across time and form. This means alot to us as its a common belief that Literature is dying... as a subject.. but ten years of preservation of this youthful team means that.. as long as we exist.. Literature will always be given fresh air to breathe and therefore LIVE- especially Shakespeare Education.
We celebrate a decade of groundbreaking theatre that has transformed literature from the page to the stage. Milwaz Productions has redefined what LITERATURE looks like, and now it's time to honour that legacy; with style.
Though they were among the youngest cast members in Milwaz Productions’ history, the Anansi cast delivered performances far beyond their years. With passion, energy, and undeniable talent, they rose to the occasion and poured their hearts onto the stage, leaving the audience in awe.
